About Deira
Deira is one of the oldest parts of Dubai, on the north side of the Creek, and for a long time it was the trading and commercial heart of the city. It is dense and busy, packed with souks, small shops, trading offices, warehouses and older residential buildings, and it still handles a huge amount of the city's day-to-day trade in gold, spices, textiles and electronics.
The streets here are narrow and crowded, and businesses often sit right next to homes. Many buildings are older, and a lot of shops have been run by the same families for years. Because it is so commercial and so densely built, most of our work in Deira is for shops and stores, where theft and stock control are the everyday concerns, alongside some work in the older apartment buildings.
